Jewish Revolt Coinage

I asked my father to have it slabbed. I prefer it that way since it is now authenticated, and I can track it a little bit better now since it has a serial number, and I like the slabs.

Many ancient collectors don't prefer this, but it is a misnomer to think the coin was handled for 2 millennia. It was buried somewhere, and not in general circulation. This particular coin came from a dig in Israel. The encapsulation is protecting it from a thousand likely events that would otherwise destroy it. It is a nicer example and I got it from a licensed dealer in Israel when I was learning there.

That's an interesting video to watch. I've seen it. In years past I bought coins from David Hendin back when he had regular lists. He's a great man in the numismatic field, one of THE experts in ancient Jewish coinage. I have his Guide to Biblical Coins book, signed, not the newest edition yet.
