from all of us! What you have there is a bunch of machine/strike doubling, the not valuable type, so no real mint errors to speak of here, and nice photos to boot, and on the Sheldon grading scale, I estimate this at a EF-40ish.

Is the inverted A in place of the V common?

The A/V is the only thing that adds value to this coin. About $1000 extra I believe.

Thoughts on grade? I know pictures aren't great . I really appreciate your help with all these questions. Obviously I have a lot to learn and do not want to screw up lol.

I'd say VF-30
With the A/V, it makes this a $1,900 coin

As long as "value" is being tossed around, here are "sold" items from ebay. Most are just regular 1872's but there are some A/V's of lesser grade. This will give you an idea of what it's really worth, not a price out of a book. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nk...e=1&_fosrp=1

I use the CoinsandCanada auctions certified coins prices and values website. "Find the market price of canadian coins, based on auctions sales of certified coins from different auctioneers and online auctions" https://www.coinsandcanada.com/coin...&Send=SearchI also looked at the Torex webpage past sales, which had: VF-30 - $2,499 VF-30 - $2,082 VF-30 - $1,487 VF-30 - $2,716 VF-30 - $2,415 Which is more or less in line with what is on the CoinsandCanada webpage
