1973-Lincoln-Full-Steps-Full-Strike?
1973-Lincoln-Full-Steps-Full-Strike?

Title was to get your attention sort of! When looking at this 1973 Lincoln the steps appear to be complete? However, I see that right in the middle of the steps there appears to be a flat spot and obviously a gash at the base. I am thinking that since the building itself isn't complete then that is tied to the flat spot on the steps? would those places be the high point of the coin? On the obverse the chatter at the base appears to be die clash marks and my question to you is that when there are die clash marks on the obverse, there should be marks on the reverse? Last thing on the obverse what appears to be shiny is actually the coin beginning to tone
Rest in Peace

Would have been nice steps ,though not full if there wasn't so much damage 0n bottom steps . Yes the coin is starting to toned that nice RD/BN color . Wait for another response about die clash marks .

Not sure what mean about a die clash, I don't see anything.

Keep in mind, the "full steps" is nothing more than something I dreamed up. It's NOT like nickels where people have certain criteria. My criteria for Lincolns is they were minted complete with full separation and all steps showing. Hits do not change my personal designation.

FS examples can be found in 1973. The reverse hubs/dies were still in good shape. This is my 73:

Notice how large the FG is? It was only used for this one year. The Mint thought the initials were too large, so they had the dies scrapped and replaced with another new one for 1974.

That makes the 1973 Lincoln Cent a one year Type Coin.
