I had Heritage coins look at it abd they told me to send it in to be graded to. But I cant do that if I have no money for the cost of grading it.

Please don't send it to Heritage as that is their "default" reply. (Remember that they love collecting fees.)

They only sell slabbed coins. A "slabbing"/grading service will grade this but not assign a variety. (ANACS is the only one that might, once it's been attributed.)

To determine if it is truly what you think, you would need to send it to an attribution expert (Coopercoins.com, VerietyVista.com, Doubleddies.com,CRdieVarieties.com) If they agree, they send a letter confirming what it is to you with the coin. ANACS is the only slabbing service, at this point, that will include a variety number for a coin that isn't in the Cherry Pickers Guide.

(If you're not familiar with the Cherry Pickers Guide do an online search for more info.)

Again, the only way to get this attributed is sending it to a professional variety attribution service and then send to ANACS to be slabbed.

Dudeld,
Please spell check before posting...thanks. As already stated, post an in focus close up of the date and mint mark please. I do not think it is an OMM, but a damaged mint mark punch. If you send it to ANACS please post a full slab photo front and back when you get it back.

I agree with John1, this looks like a damaged mintmark punch. I would also encourage you to have this attributed by one of the error websites or stabbing won't matter. Best of luck to you!
