I have a 1955 S over D. OR A S over P Lincoln Penny. I know what most of you will say is yeah right there's no such coin. Believe me or not I have one. The proof is in photos as you can see it turns out to look like a 1955 B penny

Can't tell anything from that pic. Looks more like an S with a hit or stain than anything though.

@dude, first welcome to CCF. Second, it sounds like you've pretty much made up your mind as to what you have there. That's fine, but the below link is list of all known OMMs in this series: http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20L...Listings.htmIf you'd like to consider other possibilities, please post an in-focus, close-up of the mintmark and add it to this thread. Thx!

To the CCF Does not appear to be RPM. A sharper photo would help in determining what you have. Even if it was a RPM, it would be a variety, not an error

Well that is a good point but you are forgetting one thing. They only have information on known moms. Lime I told others before cause they haven't flung or seen one yet then it diesnt mean it don't exist. Look at the 1958 DDO. They didn't know about that for years. Also 1955 DDO too. So if you just go off of what other people say or believe there is no possibilities of one then all coin errors or varieties are made up and fake.

Couldn't be an S over P because the Philly mint didn't place P mint marks on '55 wheat cents (or other wheat cents for that matter).

Dudeld -- If you feel you have a genuine S over D, consider submitting it to a reputable 3rd party grading service. Please let us know what the results are when the item is returned to you. Thanks.

It would be raised. I'm not seeing a rise above the fields. It would look more like this:

I had heritage coins look at it abd they told me to send it in to be graded to. But I cant do that if I have no money for the cost of grading it.

Very cool Dudeld. Hope you can pull together the money needed to submit the coin. Eager to learn what the findings are.
