I have the grade from NGC (coin on its way). AU-58

I have been told that NGC has recently raised its bar on MS grades, aiming to become the more conservative shop.

Unfortunately Charles VI here has paid the price. In spite of the inspiration by the group here for an MS grade, it does satisfy my "I am hoping at least au 58 maybe ms" expectation.

AU-58 is definitely not a grade to cause disappointment. This is a sweeping general statement, but I find AU-58 to be the sweet spot for 300+ old talers. A coin of this age should not be blast white, nor should they look like they were just minted. Many AU-58s seem to have attractive patinas with more of a naturally aged look.
