The hit on the chin is pretty deep and large and, like many 19th century pieces, it looks to have been lightly cleaned.

That said the color and luster are quite good and the eye appeal is above average. The reverse has a more remaining detail than the obverse and looks fully AU. The obverse appears XF40. So XF45 is my guess.

Good analysis. EF-45 sounds about right, but I don't have much experience grading these.

No suggestion of cleaning in normal lighting. NGC grades it at AU55.

AU55 is a little generous. please wait at least 24hrs to post grade 48 is better if you can

obv looks like a weak strike. reverse at AU55. the surfaces are pretty marked up. I would net it to AU50

I'm leaning towards AU-53 and possibly cleaned. Not one I'd pay AU-55 money for.

The original photos don't do it justice. Other than the chin nick, it looks really nice in hand. New cell, better camera...
