I was a tad confused when their title said 1894 doubled die when in actuality is a repunched date (rpd). Any one else notice this
Article came out yesterday...

It's a PCGS article and I believe it is correct.
Rest in Peace

I noticed the mix of terms as well - Opening line -
Quote:
One of the most enduring Indian cent varieties is the 1894/1894 Doubled Date,

First line paragraph 4 -
Quote:
Prices for the 1894/1894 Doubled Die Indian cent start at around $80 for a specimen in G4, reaching $185 in F12 and $400 in XF40

Edit to add - checking the PCGS coinfacts the 1894/1894 doubled date variety and 1894/1894 RPD FS-301/ (Snow 1) variety appear to be the same obverse die.

Yeah doubled die is incorrect.

Repunched date or doubled date are accurate.

Yep misused it three times, twice in reference to the 1894RPD, and once in reference to the 1867/67 and 1869/69 RPD's.

But as Bobby says the article was provided by PCGS so they are the ones who got it wrong not CoinWeek (Unless you want to consider it a editing error.)
