As far as stamps, I have no power. Anything in the coin category I can handle pretty quickly.

Thank you again. This scammer is rather relentless. All of his listings were removed, relists the coins that were removed, and added a couple more "Priceless and Rare" damaged coins.

I remembered seeing the "Apostrophe Lincoln Cent" he/she had posted here in the forum asking if the coin was an error. Despite getting many replies that the coin has "Plating Debris" and not really considered to be an error and has no extra value, he/she listed the same "Apostrophe Lincoln Cent" as a "1991' Mistake Cent" and in the description the coin has a DDO and an extra 1 by the date.

He/she first had the coin listed as "1991/w Apostrophe Lincoln Cent One of a Kind Mint Error" and I had called him/her out in a message asking why he/she has the coin listed as an error when he/she was told in the forum the coin was not an error. He/she replied that he/she didn't care what anyone says.....see attached screenshot of my question and his/her reply.

So this seller is not only not very knowledgeable on the subject of numismatics, but also is a liar, and looking to swindle. He/she knows these coins are not errors, and is falsely describing them as errors. I very much agree that he/she should be booted from this forum and ebay.

Sorry, I forgot to attach the screenshot to my message.

Yes its annoying and these clowns have no manners.

But at the end of the day if someone is stupid enough to fall for that crap, why stop them. You can not be everyone's keeper and social conscience. Of course I know its different if someone vulnerable in your family gets ripped off with such a coin or any other scam on ebay, Etsy, gumtree, Chinese Arabian night named sites or whatever.

All I say is Karma has a way of coming around, I mean I could never do that thing, having a conscience I could not sleep at night knowing I ripped somebody off like that.

I would not engage these scammers either, they are always rude and will complain of harassment and then alert the webpage owners who will warn you (They are protecting their success and listing fees - selling a 1 cent coin for $1000 means they get $100).

I tried to call out a couple of rip off artists on trade me and nearly got banned and scanning the coin pages now, there is more overpriced rubbish (Worn pennies for $500 etc) and silver rounds with skulls and that eyeing husky meme at $400 each, than there are serious coins.

Add in the number of Chinese run junk warehouses selling PVC laden Chinese coin albums for $7 and a "Reproduction coins" section with every fake Chinese junk coin you could ever want.

Modern society and a namby pamby PC woke education system ensures that people do not have to strain their brains too much if they don't want to.

Today's collector just needs to be wise and discerning more than ever.

Has relisted the same coins.
Hope everyone has enough sense to know that these are just badly damaged coins.
His stamps are even more ridiculous, $300.00 for a stamp worth a coupe of cents.
Not much hope he would ever sell any of these.
This seller would be right at home on Etsy.

The seller now knows that I am on to the scam he/she is running, otherwise it would teach him/her a quick lesson to purchase one of the listed coins, make the payment via PayPal (no longer an ebay owned payment system or a preferred payment method of ebay), after receiving the coin start a "Not as Described Dispute". ebay always sides with the buyer when a dispute has been raised. It would then cost the seller $5 for the return shipping with tracking, and due to the current ebay policy, the final selling fee will not be refunded when the item was disputed. That would cost him/her a good chunk of cash from a $1200 sale that was originally created to be a scam listing.

Igor22- The seller is known to visit this site, which has been mentioned by name in your email, and is most likely aware of this thread. I think the play you describe is a risky one and probably won't work out as you've detailed in writing on a public site.

One problem is now the seller has your name and address [and is disgruntled].

This seller probably sees how easy it is for the government to run a scam [covid?] and just wants in on the easy money.

Yes, I am aware of that, hence why I said the seller is on to me, due to our previous messages.....it wouldn't work if I was to put idea into play.

Yes, and the descriptions seem to get even more ridiculous with each new listing. He/She seems to really think roadrash coins are something rare, despite being told otherwise.

Thank you....and please continue. He/She is now listing normal minted coins and describing them as known errors....Example - 88 Lincoln as 88 Lincoln with reverse of 89, and Floating Roof/No FG.
