Your pics aren't terrible, but coin pics really must be taken face on and not at an angle unless you are trying to enhance the view of a specific feature. Of course blurriness is to be avoided. At first blush the coins look genuine -- which is no small issue when dealing with 1921 Morgans, counterfeits of which blight the marketplace by the gazillions. If you plan to buy raw coins like this often, it is worth investing in a small scale and a caliper to help verify authenticity. Report this Post to the Staff

It is difficult to get the perfect light settings to get the entire coin lit up. The setup you have seems to work great. The 1921 Philly I would say it is uncirculated, but it has a lot of contact marks and cabinet rub on the cheek. MS-61 The 1921-S has been in quite a few hands. XF-40 Suffering from bust half fever. They are much better than the first set. The coins are genuine. I'm at MS-60 on the 1921. I'm still a little unsure about the surfaces on the 1921-S -- there may have been an old cleaning. It would probably require a loop or scope to say for sure. There's plenty of wear. Put me in at VF-35. Honestly, while both coins are worth having, neither is worth slabbing. Maybe the 1921 if you're sending in a number of other coins. Report this Post to the Staff
