Denmark 1897 2 Ore--Interesting Digit

I just don't know what to make of this coin, because I'm admittedly unfamiliar with the digits used on coins of Denmark. Perhaps it's just a normal part of the 7?
I found this at a show the other day, where a clean geometric curve extends from the base of the 7, curving around to the right (arrow). Below is a shot taken from two different lighting angles.

If this is some kind of overdate, I'm perplexed because I don't think the digits that could leave a curve were coined in those years. (1896, 1895, 1893)--unless the 1892 is a possibility? Any ideas?
