I began collecting US Mint medals in June 2013 and encountered the lack of published information on a particular medal. To overcome this deficiency; I took on the challenge to research information about this medal.

By February 2014, I formally released my research findings: I discovered, organized and formed a new US Mint medal series consisting of 16 medals and 6 varieties (22 total).

The memo at the end of this video (2022 re-branding video) is the "provenance memo (quantities removed for this video) for the majority of medals struck for President Eisenhower's use".

The Paris Summit class 2 medal (seen in the video) is the most intriguing due to its historic connection to the failed 1960 Paris Summit and the cold war.

Original mintage was 1,200 with a documented US treasury destruction of 491. The net remaining to collectors is 709. When you count in the fact that this medal was unknown to collectors for 54+ years and suffered a high attrition rate due to its lack of numismatic identity, historic relevancy, and treated without due regard, the net remaining count to collectors is even lower.

Lastly, you had earn this medal and was not for sale by the US Mint.

Thanks for sharing.! Good work!

I also enjoy original research into what I collect, including pieces not previously cataloged/documented.
