Question from a beginner:

How do I know if a proof set is a good deal based on price. Is it typically 30% of book value or 70% of book value. Any help or insight would be great. I have learned so much already from all the members just by reading the posts. Thanks again. Tom

The best anwser is check around, look online, ebay, magazines, local dealer, that will give you an idea of the "Market Value" and go from there.

I use a combination of prices on this website http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/fmv.shtml and what I see from current and completed auctions on ebay.
