I have a questionable 1936 d nickel reverse side top of the bison it looks like a dike brake I don't know what's going on if anybody can help me out let me know what you think

It is not a Cud if that is what you are referring to, it is damage PMD
Looks like something may be on the surface.
Also the proper terminology and spelling is "Die Break."

Based on the photo, it kinda looks like a retained lamination done before strike, but I could be wrong here .
