First question, are these real? I checked the acid test and they both appeared above 22 karat. The jewelery around the (half?) sovereign tested 14 karat. So I think they are real and not restrikes.

Second question how would these be graded? Are they something worth above gold value (which is immensely high at the moment) any opinions are welcome

The sovereign should measure 22.05mm in diameter. A half sovereign would measure 19.30mm. This coin has a Melbourne mintmark (M) on the obverse and should be a sovereign, as Melbourne half-sovereigns of this date had a crowned shield on the reverse.

Is the coin loose in the bezel or fixed? It may have suffered damage when it was put in the mount. It looks as though it's been polished and has accumulated various dings and scratches over the years. As far as wear goes, I'd say it's about Fine, and probably worth just a small premium over bullion value.

It looks genuine to me, but you can see a photo of a genuine one here if you wish to compare side-by-side:

The Dutch 10 Gulden coin should be 22.5 mm in diameter and weigh 6.72 grams.

Thanks for the reply guys, they must be real then because the weight is also correct (calculating the ring around the Victoria coin). Now I have them in hand and made some new pictures. How about grading the Dutch coin vf or higher?

I would also point out that the little "M" underneath the queen's portrait on the sovereign indicates this is an Australian-minted (Melbourne) sovereign. Britain (London) didn't strike any sovereigns in 1883. Sadly, the bezel makes it undesirable for a collector, as the coin is most likely already damaged. It is definitely worth keeping as a jewellery item, rather than trying to disassemble it - intact, it's a contemporary piece of antique coin jewellery; pulled apart, it's just scrap gold.

The Dutch coin probably isn't worth much if anything over gold value, but I don't really know what Dutch coin prices are doing in the pandemic market - prices for coins are crazy unpredictable these days.

The Victoria coin sits loose in the bezel so I can turn it a little bit. But very difficult to get it out I imagine without damaging the coin, maybe I will ask a jeweler someday to try and get it out properly. But for now I will leave it like this. Indeed it is from Australia as Numisrob pointed out, I did not know this when I made the topic so thanks for all the advice!

And indeed the prices for bullion and coins in general are extremely fluctuating last years. And I guess it will go even crazier with this war. Seeing all prices of commodity sore like crazy including gold, silver etc.
