In addition to the Type Set and Complete Set boards, Wayte Raymond also produced mini-sets of boards for the multi-year coin programs of the series. Presented here are the two boards for the 1946-51 Booker T. Washington Birthplace Memorial half dollars (18 coins in total, 10 coins in Board 1 and 8 coins in Board 2). The Stock Numbers for the two boards in the set are: 395A and 395B.

The Booker T. Washington Birthplace Memorial series of half dollars was issued from 1948 through 1951; the coins were struck at all three US Mint facilities each year. The first board of the Set (395A) has 10 openings, with spaces for the 1946, 1947 and 1948 coins struck in Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. The board also includes a spot for the 1949-(P) half dollar.

The second board of the Set (395B) includes eight openings. The first two openings on the board complete the 1949 issues with spaces for the coins from Denver and San Francisco. Also included are spaces for the program's 1950 (P-D-S) and 1951 (P-D-S) coins.

On the back of each board, at its top, is printed "No. 395A Wayte Raymond Inc.--- N.Y. Made in U. S. A. Pat. No. 1,719,962." (Note: The stock number listed here is used as an example - the number was unique to each board in the mini-set.)

For more on the coins included on this these boards, along with other of my posts on commemorative coins and medals, have a look at: Commems Collection.

Yes, everything I've presented is part of my collection - I've imaged my own boards/albums.
