the 82 is stellar. looks like a proof to me so I'm going with PF67. is it worth double the 81? unless the 82 grades PF68 I dont think so. would I choose the 82 over the 81? absolutely.

I agree with what others have said. The 82 is spectacular. If you had not shown us that one, everyone would be commenting on how nice the 80 is.

My goodness! Those are beautiful proofs.

The CAM on the 1882 is more complete than the 1880, and that gives the 1882 better overall eye appeal. I don't think a direct price comparison is possible. There are many mid-60s generic proofs out there, but few real eye-poppers.

You know which coin "hits" you. You have excellent instincts for eye appeal and what fits your collection. Go with your heart here. Both of these are superb coins.
