Not seeing any Cud here, Cuds always involve the rim of the coin. you have a die chip, but hard to tell with the photos presented.

I'm still new to this, but after some research, I think you are correct - It appears to be a die chip error. Is this not a coin to keep ?

(Apologies for the images. Do you have any guidance for improving them either through technology or personal experience ? )

first off I forgot to say
Second, your photo quality is good, just small (try to have them larger without decreasing quality). You cropped properly the full coin images very well, but the 'close-up', it looks like you just cropped in tighter on the area of interest. It is better to take a new in-close image to get much better details of the small stuff that would otherwise be hard to see.

Thank you all for the advice - I appreciate it. ... I think I'll look into a digital microscope/camera to make things easier than fiddling around with a iphone.

If you get one of those scopes with a monitor on it,make sure to use a memory card in it.Do not just take a photo of the scopes screen and post that please.

Yes it is, and you can direct connect to a PC via USB cable and view directly on the computers monitor and save directly to the PC drive.
