From the ebay Coins and Paper Money Forum:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...m=7304922566
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...m=7305395340

Navigating around the auctions:
Both are for the identical 1881CC PCGS MS-65 (green label) Morgan. Both are from China sellers with zero feedback. Both auctions have bidders; one has 21 bids. Both sellers have multiple NGC and PCGS Morgans listed, all mid-MS grade 1880's Morgans. Both have really nice pics of the coins.

Wanna bet the bidders are buying just downloaded pictures?

I reported those two and the other two identical auctions (1882CC Morgan) that were both being sold by fengqinglianren. Although the titles are different, the pictures are identical. Also, the high bidder on the one being sold by goodluck5188 is also a 0 feedback user. This all looks very suspicious. This looks like a pretty good scam-in-the-making.

Why would a bidder, ffd414, raise his/ her own bid 6 times, $145 in 1 minute and 31 seconds? Would you say they are working with the seller? Schilling?

Could be....could be....

This could be a matter of all of these being the same user, also, in an attempt to build feedback so they can look more reputable when they start selling raw "genuine" coins. Obviously, if that is what they're attempting, they're also not being very intelligent about it.

I sent the buyer of #2566 a message stating it is likely a fraud. ebay and the seller might not like this, but tough kazooties.

Just be careful with that, Fred. ebay can and will ban users for what is deemed "interference" in an auction. Personally, I think you did the right thing and I thank you.

Yeah, I was aware that ebay frowned on it, but I did it anyway with eyes wide open. I don't do it often and those few times I have contacted a buyer with a warning, I know I'm laying my head on the chopping block, but I rationalize it under "buyer education" and "fraud prevention".

Well, I have to confess that I have done the same thing on occasion and no one has ever reported me. I think you only get reported for that if you happen to contact a schill bidder or something.
