Can you provide a larger picture of both sides? I would like to see a large picture before I can say for sure. From what I can see I don't like the looks of the letters in the inscription, they seem very crude compaired to the bust and seated figure.

I agree with echizento's initial analysis. Also bigger pictures would be nice.

And to the forum.

I think this coin is going to turn out to be a Fouree. A silver plated counterfeit of the orignal coin. I see some signs of green which could be the inner copper core starting to come out.

Is it a modern counterfeit or not?

Does it read M OTACIL SEVERA AVG on the obv. and CONCORDIA AVGG on the rev.?

Looking at it with my old eyes and a magnifier it appears to say that on the sides you asked for. Thanks Dennis

No it's not a modern copy but a unofficial (counterfeit) coin from that period, an is collectible.

Obverse: M OTACIL SEVERA AVG, Reverse: CONCORDIA AVGG, Concordia seated holding patera and two cornucopia.

Thanks and what kind of a value would this have as a
counterfeit coin from that period. I really appreciate all the help on this coin. Dennis

Thank you Echizento and all and I will tell you a quick story about this coin. I am dealing a person in the south on some other products and when he found out I liked coins he told me about this coin that a relation of his that lived in Spain had bought this coin at a yard sale in Spain and when he come to the US to visit him gave it to him. He was not into coins so he traded it to me. That is how I got it. Thank you for all your help. Dennis
