I'd love to hear a good way to tell the differences. The coin posted I believe is PL as the camo in specimen coins I have seen are always always heavy camo+

Circulation strikes will have bag marks and scratches.

Proof-like strikes will not have any bag marks but may have a pebbly texture on the Queen's shoulder and sometimes the upper braid (i.e., the high points).

Specimen strikes will not have bag marks, or pebbly texture, and will have an overall satiny appearance.

That being said, I still find it hard to distinguish b/w high-grade PL strikes and SP strikes.

This was my 1964 PR/SP 65 DCAM in a PCGS holder. You can see the lack of chattering on the shoulder. I still struggle with identifying some of the SP vs. PL and even really nice MS can throw me for a loop. I feel like I'm starting to get a feel for it by examining coins in hand, but still a long way to go before I would shell out for an ungraded specimen with a risk of it being PL.

@Cyraxrulez: That is a circulation strike.
