This large cent kind of makes me mad because the obverse looks gorgeous in my eyes, but then there's the reverse, that looks absolutely unattractive and ugly. I don't know how one side kind be so different from the other. In my eyes the obverse looks like XF but the reveres looks like a F. And then there's another problem. The coins makes me feel like it was cleaned but I need the assurance of more collectors to know if it was actually cleaned.

NGC is valuing the XF at $75 and AU at around $150, and this is cleaned. What would be the value of the coin with this condition cleaned up?

I just read about weak strikes. Is this coin actually weak struck? Does that count as a mint error that could add to the premium or no?

it is not a mint error. it adds no premium but should not detract from the grade either however some collectors want fully struck coins and even though it doesn't effect the actual grade it would affect value.

NGC and PCGS values are for slabbed coins. yours is raw and would not have a value for an XF coin and especially for a details (cleaned) coin.

i would net the coin at XF40 details. if the coin was straight I would say in the $70-75 range unslabbed. as is no more than $50. this is all subjective as every collector could see it different when you are talking a details coin which can be anywhere from 30-70% less than retail
