Hi everyone
Was hoping someone could help me. I have tried googling and cannot find any information in relation to a 2002 year of the outback coin I've come across. The colour is slightly off, kinda bronze-ish. It appears I good condition for its age but there is some strange I just can't put my finger on.
Below are some pics, you can see it better when the camera is on an angle.

Nothing unusual from my experience. Right hand coin is showing original lustre with some toning. Left hand coin is a mat sort of finish from all the hard knocks it's received.

Identity was never an issue.
And no, it has nothing to do with being wiped clean. I guarantee that given a heavily knocked around coin and an almost UNC coin (like the ones pictured), no matter how many times you wipe them BOTH clean they will still look the same. A new coin will have light reflected off the surface evenly. The more a coin is knocked around the more the reflected light is scattered thus dulling the surface. It's merely physics in action.
