I don't have much experience grading half dollars, I'd guess VF details cleaned.

It is worth noting with these
that all of the very many reverse high points combine together to protect the overall design against wear.

Because of this, on first appearances,
the reverse always seems to have a higher grade than the obverse.
Nothing wrong with that.
I think that, from a technical point of view, it is a superior design.
The RCM got the reverse design development right.

That means to grade these accurately,
almost all emphasis on grading should refer to the obverse design.

With Hugh Paget master dies the RCM used,
I find that the hair detail is more accentuated on Canadian silver coins than that on coins of any other Commonwealth Country.
But the original master dies for the effigy still came from The Royal Mint in London. At least, the RCM tried with the obverse as well.

Missing a lot of fine hair detail on obverse in this case,
VF ( British grading)
From these pictures I can't quite make up my mind about cleaning, What you see here could? be a result from it's experience in circulation.

I may be way off but going by the amount of wear on the hair and
eyebrows which are the high points, I would grade it at F12

I'll say VF-30. I don't see any true indications of cleaning.

If not details then I think I am at vf20, though I'm kind of thinking it may have been a weak strike as the wear seems really inconsistent, in which case I agree with okie at vf30

This one is very well struck IMHO. The reverse tells the tale. In a poor strike the leaves at the bottom of the shield and the base of the crown, particularly on the left side, are very obviously weakly struck with details missing in a significant way. This one has no such issues. I agree with F-VF, but I'm leaning more towards F if graded by ICCS. Maybe F-18, but I don't think it rates VF.
