I agree that CopperCoins did a great job photographing the differences between 1982 obverse types.
For world coins, it's a slow and steady process to build a gallery. Given the huge number of world varieties, it will never be an exhaustive reference by country, but we may get a good representation of collector's interests.
I have many more to post in the near future. 
Similarly, A US variety gallery would be an interesting but incomplete reference because we would have to link out to so many external sites, which may or may not be maintained over time. Content of linked sites would be a consideration too. Many varieties are simply too scarce to own and take our own photos, and using external pics on this forum runs into copyright/permissions issues. This is why I only host photos taken by collectors of their coins.
