American Numismatic Society - Bill Dalzell of Classical Numismatic Group will present his research on the Belleville mint. It has been known to the numismatic community primarily for their involvement in the production of American Hard Times tokens and Canadian Bouquet Sous of the late 1830s. Previous discussions have mostly focused on these two areas and the involvement of one John Gibbs. New archival and numismatic research, however, unveils a rich tapestry of tokens, coins, and counterfeits struck at the prosperous and politically connected brass rolling firm of Stephens, Thomas & Fuller.
