I was swing shift manager at a grocery store and spotted this in the change dispenser at a register because I had an eagle eye for silver coins. When I pulled it out of the changer it was a 1916 Mercury.I slowly turned it over and thought oh please let it be a D.I was disappointed but kept it all these years.Looking closer what do you think!

Is that just a indentation or the center of the D?

This is not the Denver.

The "mint mark" you think you see is in the wrong spot by far.

You realize when you know how to think, it empowers you far beyond those who know only what to think.

Thanks for all your input,it's much appreciated. That is a strange mark near the D you must admit. To bad it isn't a 1916-D that would be so cool if it was a worn down D.Dimes were the most silver back in the day I would find probably because they were so small they didn't stick out to most people.Hardly ever found quarters.
