Just wondering what people think of the obverse of this George IV Shilling? This is one I am selling right now on the Bay - a nicely toned VF?.. :)

My idea was that it was an example of an attempted piercing?

Thats a rather nice coin. Its a real shame that someone tried to pierce this beauty. But it still looks awesome for its age.

Other the attempt to drill a hole this is a nice coin, still would be a nice addition to a collection.

Indeed, it is very nice.

But Matt, why are you not shipping your lots overseas anymore?

I am! .. That was just for heavy lots because of the risk of heavy packages 'going astray..'

(In any case I could make exceptions for CC members ;) )
