This is the cent in question. Is this a "real" reverse proof? I have never heard of this.

Yep! It's a reverse proof with the W (West Point) mint mark. Mintage: 412,508 (?)

As Yokozuna said, it is real. In 2019, the mint included "bonus" W-mint Lincoln cents (in a small envelope as shown in the ad) with their proof and mint sets. The reverse-proof W-mint cent was included with the silver proof set.

In 2020, W-mint proof and reverse-proof Jefferson nickels were included with the regular and silver proof sets, but they did not include an uncirculated W-mint nickel with the mint set unfortunately...
