I have decided to go on with the Peace dollars I bought to start my collection.

Here is one from 1922. I am really not sure about the grade.
There definitely is sth like mint luster, but on the other hand a lot of details look ... worn. So AU, XF? No idea.

again, we need photos outside the holder. obv rim has quite a few nicks and due to lighting not sure if all the luster is there. reverse is little worse off. the boulder has some fairly significant hits and scratches on the left field. are some of them on the holder? cant tell.
without better photos AU53 possibly details

not sure what you are buying these coins at price wise but since you are a novice I suggest posting photos here, if possible, prior to purchasing them. not only will you learn a lot about grading them, you may save yourself $$ by not overpaying.

Thank you both for all your comments.

panzaldi, I will answer you here for all the threads in that you asked: All my photos I posted on this board so far were done with the cap removed. No plastic between coin and lens. I still have to figure out how to make good pictures from coins. Is there maybe a guideline or sth. you could point me to?

Gladly I will come back to your offer to give opinions about coins I have not yet bought - is this also the correct board for such requests?

Considering the prices: I have bought my Peace dollars in the 30-35€ range so far. Morgan dollars were between 35€-60€. Before spending triple digits on a higher quality or rarer coin I will make sure to get your opinions here!

PS
I will try to get better pictures for all my grading threads that I opened so far! Probably tomorrow or so.

yes

also the photos for this coin are decent enough to grade from with just a little less glare would be great. do not use overhead lighting which will reduce glare

Thanks for your replies.

Could you point out what would have to be different or better to grade higher eg AU-55 or -58?
