Hi All, I love this hobby and I love this forum. I do not have deep pockets, but would still like to give something small back to the members of this forum. I would like to run a small interesting yet easy contest. All you need to do is number your post in order from the previous post. You also have to write very briefly what is the main attribute of this hobby you love most. Eg: For me it is the history surrounding the coins. Atrributes may be used more then once but numbers can't. I am offering the coin in the picture. It is a 1 mark from Germany dated 1875 (in the era of Germany's unification) If the winner already has this coin I also have some WW2 era coins from Belguim and even some early 1900 coins from Austria on offer. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c...100_1874.jpgThe winning number will be drawn out of a hat (yes a real hat) by my lovely wife next Thursday night (Ozzie time) I hope you enjoy reading the posts. Thankyou and Take Care, Lars Edited by KLD 03/16/2006 04:04 am

bm1947...That makes you number ONE
I'll be Number TWO I enjoy the History of the coins mostly, where they come from and where they have been before they fell into my little collection. Followed by the many different design espicially on the older coins from other countries.

Wow....Thats one coin I don't have. I am interested in history...Through coins my historical knowledge increased a whole lot more. I also love designs of coins. The second main reason is because I wanted to continue the collecting generation in my family, I'm doing it because I love it!
Thanks!

My interest in coins is from a Historical ,Beauty, cultural view point,, alot to be learned about certian places, events and the people involved, based upon the Money that they made and used.

Thanks for the contest Lars.
I like to see different designs that reflect a country's history, culture. It's not only collecting some metal pieces that makes me interested, but also the history involved. Every coin has a story to tell, every coin is like another piece in a jigsaw puzzle that noone ever can complete, but try to see a larger section.

Thanks for the contest. My main reason is to hold something from the past or from another country. Its interesting to hold a shiny piece of metal and think where has this been and where will it go after it leaves me? And they always have some beauty to them that makes it even better.

I had to get this one in before longnine.......hehehehe My reasons for collecting are numerous....I like the historical aspect...especially the little unknown facts and trivia that are like precious gold to me anyhow.......and I like the interaction between collectors.....the sharing of knowledge.....the building of positive relationships.......and of course who could leave out the "thrill of the hunt".......or that last second bid to win the prize of your eye....Count me as contestant NUMBER NINE in your wonderful contest!! SORRY BOUT THAT LONGNINE!!!

NUMBER TEN!!
First, I will say thank you for running this contest. My reasons for collecting coins are these: (1)I have just jumped into the hobby but am already loving it. (2) I enjoy searching for coins. (3) Coin collecting is a hobby in which you are having fun, but not blowing money *AND* My favorite reason(4)I like to think about each individual coin, where it has been, what it was used to purchase, and what hands it has touched. Once again, Thank you! Chris
