Many of the coins are very tricky to remove from direct fit so I have some such, as IHC are in ring type.

what is the feeling of the forum on using ring type when direct fit are available?

I prefer direct fit when I can get them. I don't generally remove coins very much from their holders.

Pretty much everthing I own is in direct fit airtites. I don't really plan on ever removing them. Some foreign coins, or worn coins, I had to use the ring type cuz I couldn't find a good fit/direct fit. I have taken a coin out of a direct fit that was waaayyy too snug.
My technique... open air-tite, place open side down, flick edge down on hard surface(covered with towel) at approx. 45 degrees, momentum of coin will effectively cause it to fly out/down. Works better than prying with a butter knife.
