At 100 pages, we have covered 62 years in this edition (2022-1961). In the last edition we had covered 89 years (2021-1933). More contributions per year this time around .

As we say goodbye to the 1960s Jersey 1/12 shilling, 300 years of seignorage to the Crown (Philippe Carteret sweared his fealty to Charles II in 1660). Hong Kong 1 Dollar, a large handsome coin first issued this year to replace the near worthless $1 banknote, many of which were dirty and ragged after days of use in the Bougazzi markets of Hong Kong. This example is mega UNC and so good I cut my fingers on the security edge. The next date of this coin is 1970 and then until 1974 when it reduced in size and a less pleasing and much cheaper looking coin. These coins like many HK pieces were minted at The Royal Mint with some at Heaton (H mint mark). Greece 20 Drachma - this coin was issued in 1960 to take the place of a tatty banknote, yet the largest coin the 10 Drachma was a huge cupronickel piece and it was decided to make this coin 64% silver and it was 26mm in size (Between the 2 and 5 Drachma). It now meant Greece had 9 coins from this down to the aluminium 20, 10 and 5 lepta. Greece was briefly prosperous in the mid 1950s to the 1967 revolution. Papaandreou was Prime Minister and King Paul was reasonably popular. Marshall Plan money had saved it and tourism was on the rise. In the Olympics at Rome, Prince Constantine won Greece a gold medal in the Yachting even. I will show a 10 Drachma piece soon!

PrinceTane, that 1960 20 drachma is a beautiful coin. I have a very nice one, but didn't post it, as I don't have a picture of the date side on file, but now you have shown it, I'll post it anyway,
