1943 and the UK minted all the usual coins except the penny:  I retrieved this 1943 florin from change in the mid-1970s:  France had its zinc 10- and 20-centime coins:   The 2-franc coin was made from aluminium:  Belgium had zinc coins too, like this 10 centimes:  Its large African colony, the Congo, had a hexagonal brass 2-francs:  Italy 10 centesimi:  Edited by NumisRob

Like with the UK, New Zealand minted it all in 1943 except one coin and in this case it was the Halfpenny. This led to a major shortage of them during WW2 and after. British and Australian halfpence left over from before 1940 went some way to filling the void.  As usual a very high grade Halfcrown and Florin. 1943 was a good year for coins and the best since 1937. War time shortages had caused problems, but 1943 was a good year.  The rest is decent except the 6d, which was upgraded last year.   From VG to AU!  Obverses, this set is a complete contrast from the 1943 set I showed back in 2020! Unlike Australia and Fiji, no American assistance was done for our coins, The Royal Mint did it all! UPDATE 11PM - Just realised I upgraded that worn shilling too. Here is the fresh one!   one side only sorry as there is some type of picture clash which caused the wrong coin to be shown, you have seen one KGVI portrait you have seen them all Basically its another EF/AU thing I found! 1943 was a strange year in Australia, no less than 14 coins came out from 6 denominations! I have 10 of them  Here I have the San Fran Florin (gEF), Melbourne Florin (gFine), Melbourne (Scarce VF) and San Fran shillings (EF). Denver and San Fran 6d - both Fine. Also the Melbourne and Denver 3d (I am missing San Fran). You will see now many Australian silver pieces are more worn and it will get worse as we head back into the 1930s and beyond! Incredibly the Americans minted their Australian coins to the 92.5% sterling standard of Australia, rather than the 90% American standard, although they used that for the Fijian coins I show below (6d and up).  For Bronze I have a Melbourne Penny, (Missing Perth and Bombay!) and a Melbourne Halfpenny (Missing Bombay coin). I mean that is just bonkers! 1943 was a big year for coins with over 200 million coins issued including 17 million Florins, 23 million shillings, 12 million 6d, 49 million 3d! 47 million halfpence and 53 million pennies. It helped most of the raw materials were local!  With American troops in Australia and the northern part an armed zone, Australia was a big business being near the Pacific theatre of war. Doing a Dorado by following my own posts, but the last was over an hour ago. Fiji also had help with coins by the Americans. In 1942/43 Fiji was too close to the action with the Japanese near Guadacanal and all. They built an airstrip at Nadi which later became Fiji's international airport.   Florin minted in San Francisco instead of The Royal Mint.   And shilling, American assistance meant these coins were minted at the American standard of 90% silver instead of the usual 50%  Penny, these were minted in brass instead of Cupronickel for 1942/43. This one is quite worn. One side only. 6d and ½d were also minted. For 1942 I can show a full set.   New Guinea issued a 6d coin, the 2nd and last one. This was cupronickel and minted at The Royal Mint. Edited by Princetane
