Quote: No time to slow down, january1may! Sorry, a bit of a busy day full of distractions... [Post expanded with more detail; photos reordered from the original version of the post to show off the match better.] Shirvanshahs, Derbendi dynasty Khalilullah I (r. 1418-65) AR tanka (tanga?), Shamakhi mint dated (8)56 AH = 1452 AD Album 2470, Zeno cat. 25110Zlobin 034.4 [pictured]; cf. Zeno 19772 (different date) Numista 381689 (but a different subtype) ...no weight and size, sorry. Looks like I never bothered to take the measurements. I believe this is the first coin in this thread so far with the date spelled out in words - or the first Islamic one, at least (we might have had some 20th century South American examples and maybe some others). Date attribution per Zlobin; Album apparently lists this date as dubious! No examples of this date on Zeno as I write this but maybe I should try to send my coin for confirmation. My example is sufficiently off center on the reverse to include part of an apparent ring of dots that Zlobin doesn't mention! I think it might be a different die from his illustration. Obverse seems to match, though. EDIT 2: I checked the Zlobin catalog again and the very first specific illustration for the type is literally my coin. So now I have measurements: 16 mm, 3.78 grams. (There is supposed to be a plate illustration as well, but that part can't be seen in the Google Books copy.)

Oh it's my turn Let's get this one in before midnight. AH 855 Ottoman Empire Mehmed II Akce Siroz mint https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces143993.htmlBelow is a clip from Numista. This one is obverse type A If you refer to @ttkoo's earlier post, you can recognize this version of the 5. That site is very cool BTW. A lot of good stuff on there. It's interesting that the Lunar Hejira to Gregorian converter is 7 days different than the one I've been using. I meant to reply to that earlier, but I've had many things demanding my time recently, and it seems it will continue that way for a bit. If you guys end up waiting for me at some point, don't hesitate to message me to keep things moving.

Quote: AH 855 Ottoman Empire Mehmed II Akce Siroz mint For me, that is an interesting coin as I haven't seen a similar one of that era before, only relatively newer coins from the 1700's. Not so surprising though, as eastern and Islamic type coins are a relatively new venture for me. That chart is coming in handy!

We Need - 1449 C.E. (A.H. 853) -
...the other thread currently looks likely to become stuck at 1390 waiting for 1389, so there's 59 days of catch-up left, i.e. an earliest catch-up point of July 7th (6th if the 1390 coin isn't posted, but that looks unlikely). Of course that assumes no further stalls and I'd be really surprised if that's the case. Realistically I expect we'd probably catch up sometime in mid-to-late July.
