Coin weighs 4.6 grams. Reverse has rounded edge to rim. No lettering. Any ideas as to why it looks like this?

The rim has been worn down either intentionally or unintentionally.
It doesn't matter which as it is still damage.

it's just damage.

I would guess that it's intentional as the extreme ware is limited to the reverse only, but anything could have happened in the 57 years this coin has been jingling around.
