Hello,

I have a homemade coin blog that will hopefully spark interest in collecting to friends, family or anyone who sees it. Opinions?

http://home.comcast.net/~randdmart/blog/

Thanks,

Pretty cool!

Of course, I knew most of the "story" from your posts here!
By the way, I like the "shout out" to CCF you have on day one!

Sort of short but to the point. The good part is your trying to inspire people to join the coin collecting world. The bad part of that is the more collectors there are, the less you will be able to find the coins you want.
So just how do you expect people to find that blog thing? You sound like you know a little about the computer world. Have you thought of trying to post a story like that on that Utube thing?
Meanwhile, just keep on adding info to your blog. You may want to add what you've learned here, who you've met through this web site, convince people to try joining us here.
Then of course send me money for my suggestions.Just push the cash through those little slots in your computer.

Observations:
- as opposed to most blogs, the most recent additions are on the bottom. What is good when you read it for the first time, but not so great when - during the next visit - you have to scroll all the way down to check if a new entry has been added.
- if it's only for friends/family then you don't need any promotion of the blog. But then - if not, if you expect it to be an inspirational site for random visitors - as it was pointed out, people have to be able to find it. Put a link in your signature at CCF? Submit it to Google (I checked and it's not there yet)? Just in case, the submission form is here:
http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
Later on you might need to put a counter/statistics code, because it may turn out that you're the only one visiting the blog. Though the above measures will probably prevent such situation from occuring.

Good Idea.

Keep in mind, all of our CCF posts will be in the Google cache within a day or so.

Hello,

Thanks for all the input.

I have a "LATEST POST" link at the top to allow users to go directly to the latest post because while building and testing the Blog I got tired of having to constantly scroll down to the bottom.

I originally intended it to be just for friends and family but I also wanted feedback from other collectors too. I love collecting and the idea that I'm not alone is awesome. I took your advice DL20K and added a link to my signature and submitted my site to Google. Thanks You.
