I just found this 1984 1dollar coin it's off weight and the colour is way off any ideas?

Hi Jim, my thoughts are that it's neither counterfeit nor super rare.

The discolouration is most likely due to environmental issues and the weight is still within allowable tolerances as provided here. http://www8.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/...29/sch1.html
