Thinking, if you have enough money to buy a '14-D in MS, why would this have any appeal? I would value it at less than a clean AU-55 or 58.

Yes , that's my man !

It has been Result: 2 days, 1 hour, 5 minutes and 47 seconds since I posted this coin, so I am now closing it out.

CCF members disagreed with PCGS by quite a bit on this one.

PCGS MS 64 RD

CAC agrees with PCGS

I have never seen PCGS discount a grade due to carbon spots on a mint state Lincoln; I have only seen PCGS lower grades on Proofs when a bad carbon spot is present (or was partially removed).

Overall, because of the carbon "haze" I can see why, under the current lighting, this one appears RB.

Myself, I would not purchase this one due to the carbon. However, I think it might be possible for a "surface doctor" to conserve this one to more money\a higher grade.

No wonder PCGS won't give me a job.

I'm in lockstep with the above statement.

Well I got the grade, but I missed the color designation, I too as I previous said would not want this one, carbon spots grow over time, this will only get uglier.
