I agree it is very very annoying when you do the right thing but the seller just ignores you. I have in the past sent a reminder email to the seller stating that I had left positive feedback for them and that I would appreciate if they would leeve feedback for me. Most of the time that has worked. Some come back and say they only do feed back at end of month.. Boy now I need another nip of scotch and a blood pressure pill!

It is frustrating and annoying. There is nothing wrong with sending a feedback reminder to a seller. If they still don't leave it, you may want to reconsider buying from them again. If they can't even take the time to leave feedback, imagine what would happen if you needed to return an item or had a customer service issue. I wouldn't expect that seller to be very responsive.

I always post my feedback when I send out the parcel. If the buyer has paid me then they have met all their obligations so they deserve feedback then.
Rest in Peace

I also find it annoying when either my seller or, more often buyer fails to leave feedback. I'm running about 65% to 70% feedback reception on all my transactions. I understand there is a school of thought in which people do not leave feedback on principle, but I think they're just lazy. As a seller, I leave feedback as soon as I receive the money or just before I ship an item. In a message to each buyer letting them know I've shipped their item, I advise them I left feedback for them with ebay and would appreciate their feedback after they've received the item and are satisfied. Most of the time, this reminder works; sometimes it doesn't.

When I first stared buying on ebay, getting a rating was important to me. Now I'm unconcerned if I get a feedback or not.

I am the same toast...it is nice to get it as you then know you are doing the right thing...not that I doubt myself!!!! When you have feedback of 1000+ it does not really matter.

Whenever I meet a vendor that leaves me a positive on receiving payment I add that vendor to my preferred list
I understand those that hold you hostage till you leave a positive
but they will nearly never be my preferred vendor because often
the coin may have a small deficiency they hope you will not complain about
I only complained bitterly once when I bought a 20 gold Napoleon 1815
( battle of Waterloo date) and received a different year by
accident

After four emails threatening a negative and reporting for fraud the guy grudgingly gave back the 20 euro I paid too much ( that was of course easier then a refund for both parties )

As a buyer, I always leave feedback first (as soon as I receive the item). As a seller, I leave feedback last. This is NOT feedback extortion.

We learned the hard way that, even though we will happily accept any return for any reason (and we reimburse all shipping costs including return shipping), many buyers will not take the time to contact the seller if there's a problem if feedback has already been left. I don't know why this is, but it seems that some would rather leave a negative and complain than give the seller a chance to correct the situation.

We also found that, like Fred, we were taking the time to leave feedback for everyone when many buyers just didn't bother (65-70% success rate). All buyers who leave feedback get feedback in return. We send out a letter with all of our items explaining this. We do not base our feedback on the feedback received but on the transaction itself.

I don't believe a transaction is complete until the buyer has let the seller know that they received their item and are satisfied. As a buyer, when I receive an item and am happy with it, I have a responsibility to leave feedback and let the seller know. If I am not happy, I have a responsibility to contact the seller and give him/her a chance to correct the problem. Once the problem has been handled, and if I am satisfied with the outcome, I leave positive feedback. I wouldn't expect the seller to do so until all issues are resolved.

I guess that, since I buy and sell, I can see both sides of the coin (so to speak) and have never had a problem with a seller leaving feedback last.

My american friend the ex coindealer bought a gold libra 1903 from a ebay vendor with a stated return policy
The coin that arrived was machine polished jewelry total loss
When he tried to return the coin he met all kinds of obstruction : when he left a negative he told me he was sure to get a negative back and indeed he did get a negative back
But since he now moved to the buying side only he does not care about that negative .
He does not like the buying side any better then the selling side

My conclusion after 4 years of buying is very simple
Only the main coinshops caring about their reputation can be trusted
All the rest are a lottery ticket

PS I consider Forum Moms and Dads shop of this forum a prime example
of people caring about collectors and caring about
their reputation
