I'm not an expert in these but it looks awful close to the picture in the Charlton coin book

Looks like a contact mark and possible some shifted metal in a coincidental spot. As far as I know all known examples are accounted for but I don't follow dot coinage much as it's pointless to look for imo. I'll eat these words and a non dot cent if this is a 1936 dot cent.

Not a 1936 dot.
The genuine dot coins were a Specimen strike and non were circulated. The only ones minted are all accounted for.

That certainly isn't a dot cent. It has to be perfectly in the middle. And in fact, the real ones are specimens and not intended for circulation.

Nope, it's not and worth 1 cent (actually 2.3 cents scrap). It's not even close to any photo published anywhere, just private fotos from wishful collectors with "dots" showing all over the place, even some ABOVE the date thinking they had one.

And, papeldog, you should get your eyes checked. Hope all well there for you.
