No you are correct. The correct number is 18.xx. I say xx because you see which line is perfect on the second rule. In any case your coin is legitim for me from all point of view, and is the first blank outside the Mint to see un-plated.

To preserve: in in Air tide or an seal sonic slab nothing will happened and can keep hundreds of years. Zinc need humidity and air flow to corrode. The sun light and high UV like the machine for stamps can change the color but not to corrode.

IMO the price you pay is correct, reflect more the market and what a collector will pay like Dr. Shawn say in his reflections for the prices establish by TPG or some catalogs editors.
