I do not know if this is the proper forum, but here goes. I see several rolls of coins for sale on e-bay. They say "uncirculated". What is the definition of an "uncirculated " roll of coins?
I bought several rolls from the bank that are 2022 D on one end, but a shield penny on the other. They are in the standard white wrapper with red lettering.
How do I know if I see a 2022 d on one end of the roll but not the other that the entire roll is uncirculated, and does not contain any pennies that don't belong?
I may list these rolls for sale, but I WANT TO BE CERTAIN that I am selling a roll of uncirculated 2022 Pennies.

Thanks for educating me,

you can't know for sure, but if you open some other rolls from this group and they are all the same date, say that in your description

If I had to guess I'd say yes they are all new unc 2022 pennies but of course there is a slight chance others are mixed in.
Rest in Peace

As said above there is no guarantee that they will be solid OBW rolls of 2022-D . You can open one roll from that lot that you got from the bank to see if they are all 22-D's . Or you can see if the pennies in their coin trays are mostly bright and shiny new, or are they mostly RB circs .

Of the 2022-d rolls I have opened myself that came from ebay sellers, all have contained at least 46 of 50 2022 pennies, but none actually have contained all 50 2022 pennies. Some rolls may have scattered other coins in them average of 2-3 so there may be a few non 2022 pennies in each roll even loomis rolls. I suggest just browsing the description on ebay for 2022 cent rolls as they usually mention this also in some listings which you can then also add to your listing description if you are finding similar results from the specific bank rolls you have.

Uncirculated should generally mean these are not local bank rewrapped rolls of circulated coins from customers, but does not mean it will not have Coin Wrapping Machine Damage may have spots or scratches on the ends or from handling of the rolls after wrapping.

Except the quarters, halves and the dollars, the US Mint do not do rolls. Those rolls are blue or black. The rolls you refer are from coins from bags. Other exceptions are the rolls first strike send direct to grader, in general NG for marketing purpose.

All others rolls are from banks or from dealers.

Canada do not has bags and the Mint put the coins in rolls and rolls boxes.

Hope help. From Mint:

@Thomas, we are not here or come to answer to be silly or unpolite of others. Learning is a long road. we can not know everything's, no one is "Mafalda". we try to help and in same time to open discussions to learn more.

Be welcome here in the most friendly forum. Are more others here around, but are more focus ones, not education forum like this one. IMO you do one of the best choice to learn and why not become an expert in one direction or other.

The best descriptions I've come across don't list a quantity. If they do the seller is opening themselves up for a return if even 1 is missing.

All you can do is be honest and truthfully say something along the lines of " OBW with a 2022 coin on one (both) end(s)" if they really came from a bank. Go overboard with your description. The more you add the fewer chances for returns you will have. You can't know if they are 100% solid date coins until the roll is opened. When an issue arises all you can really do is plan on issuing a refund. If it happens 10% of the time, factor that into your pricing.

Best of success.

Adding to what Silvios replied, coinage is wrapped for commerce by the carrier, more specifically Brinks/Loomis and the like as orders arrive from the financial institutions/businesss they service. All of which are rolled heads/tails into the tubes from bagged coined. Which explains why you see the obverse on one end, reverse on the other. It's tough to get a full roll of the same year, unless received towards year's end when most of the previous have been depleted. But they should still be considered uncirculated mint state regardless.
