So my main question is, what if a Canadian business strike coin is struck so well that it has a proof-like appearance, how would let's say ICCS grade the coin? its prooflike but not from a prooflike set so is there any other variety attribution for this or would it just get a MS grade? I know the US just uses prooflike because they dident produce prooflike coins for collectors.Like is there any MSPL grades or is it just too difficult to tell the difference between they 2 and it would just be a gamble on what it would grade? any answers would be great and thanks for reading.

Provided that you think
the potential value after grading justifies the shipping and grading fees,
just send to PCGS, and leave it up to them,
-they would already know the answers to your questions.
And you get the coin graded as well.

Very good question. Not easy to tell sometimes what is MS vs PL.
I think the open fields are a good indicator....They look almost polished on PL....To quote CoinsandCanada.com regardling PL...

"Special coins struck at the Mint with a brilliant relief is struck on a brilliant field and not intended for circulation despite the fact that their composition is identical to the coins produced for circulation. If Proof-like coins have been removed from their protective envelope or original package, it is harder to differentiate them from uncirculated coins. Also called Brilliant uncirculated (BUNC)."

If you wish to submit a P/L coin for grading, it needs to be in its original packaging. If you remove any coins from their original packaging, they immediately become MS or business strike coins.

I forget what year, but the RCM replaced PL sets with uncirculated sets (business strikes) at some point. I think it was sometime in the 1980s but don't take my word for it. Do TPGs still consider these PL?
