i am putting a set together from circulation and in 3 weeks time I have forty seven. rather than hunt for the last 3 I am thinking of going to the coin shop and buying the proof versions of em. or should I go and buy a couple more rolls I mean how hard can California ,Montana and Pennsylvania be to find in AU?

I would just go search some more rolls. No sense spending any extra money on something that wont be work more than face value. Not trying to knock your collection but just look at the mintages!

I have extras of all 3. Different mints though... CA and MT are D... and PA is most likely P, but possibly also D

I was missing Montana, but I got 10 rolls and a few of them were Montana!
So I guess that shows if you need to fill a hole, get some rolls!

If the other 48 coins are circulated, I would not buy proofs to finish the set. The proofs will look out of place! Have patience; the last two will come to you and you will be very pleased!

I have all 50 in "Proof" in U.S. Mint plastic holders. I have all 50 in "Uncirculated" P & D. I have a complete "D" Mint Folder from uncirc. Bank rolls. I have a near complete "P" & "D" Mint Folder ....these are from searching rolls and pocket change.....the "D" Mints are in very sharp condition....not so much with the "P" Mints......(but for some reason, I can't find a 2004 Iowa "P" Quarter !)....(and I need a few "P's" from 2007 and four "P's" from 2008....got the Alaska!) And I have about 43 of the states in Uncirc. conditon Bank wrapped rolls unopened !!......... That's not a bad State Qtr. collection eh ?
