Dear friends,
I was offered to purchase the denarius.of S. Severus Emesa Mint MARTI VICT.
Obverse IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS I?. I can not find the the similar coin .
More suitable coin in OCRE is RIC 405. http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.....405?lang=en
Obverse - IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II Head of Septimius Severus, laureate, right
Reverse: MARTI VICT. Mars, helmeted, naked except for cloak tied round waist, advancing right,
holding transverse spear in right hand and trophy over left shoulder in left hand.
But the coin in BM is attributed as IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS I[I]. https://www.britishmuseum.org/colle...1947-1001-16

Can anyone explain it to me where is the one more I on Obverse?
Any information on the coin is welcome.

BM Coin is incorrectly attributed and should be COS I.
I have one from different dies....

I won't bore you with the rest of my Mars types from this series. I have many varieties.
