Abe Lincoln was 23 years old the year this one left the mint. Who knows, maybe it was in his pocket once upon a time. The unknown historical "secrets"...the unknown provenance of a coin like this, (if only coins could talk and tell you where they've been) ... ... is one of the most enjoyable aspects of collecting. Could be a light scuff/AMD that happened AFTER the darker toning occured? But for the most part it didn't damage the metal, just made the color lighter. Report this Post to the Staff
