I don't know how this could happen? The word pluribus on obverse seems to be located on the bottom underneath the shoulder of Lincoln. Not complete but enough to discern.

Looks like it might be a tilted die clash, very cool! Haven't seen one of these on a Wheat cent before.

You can also see the clash mark on the reverse with the line through PLURIBUS.

I guess I was thinking for it to be a clash that it would have to be inverted lettering? Upside down?

Yes TIPPY rotated clash. I agree with others on. I will send to MAD for attribution and analyze. For 4 $ is worth to know exact.

One of the best that I have seen !
I found a minor one on a 1916 wheat. Coppercoins 1928P-1DO-001 is also a tilted die clash. I have one from the 1930's though I would have to dig around to find it. 1954 and 55 had a few from each date.
I will have to keep an eye out for 1918 as the OP's is a super example !
