This is a coin I have, attributed to Gallienus. I'm curious if can say more, as I'd like to provide more info for a trade I'm doing. Thank you!

I believe it's this type - VBERITAS AVG, Uberitas (the personification of fruitfulness) holding a bunch of grapes and a cornucopia.

How interesting...thanks for the info!
I see the link refers to it being billon, but I thought this was bronze.

Was the silver only on the surface?

The coins of Gallienus were the nadir of Roman silver coinage, both from an artistic perspective and from the silver fineness. There was no official fineness; it seemed to be "whatever the mint could get away with". If you ran a chemical test, it would probably come up 1 or 2 percent silver. So technically, it's billon.

The Romans of this time used a pickling technique to make their coins look more silvery than they really were. The blanks were given a nice long soak in the right kind of acid, which produced a surface that was purer silver. These "silvered" coins often haven't survived circulation, then burial and subsequent cleaning, with their silver layer intact.
