I have been buying silver 10 ounce bars at a time for awhile now and since trhe recent spike in price I was wondering if now would be a good time to sell or do all of you think it will just keep going up. And if so what is the basis on you thinking it will keep rising? Just figured since it has hit a 20 year high that this would be a discussion some people may be interested in

Hi Bryan
I know folks who have alot of silver,, they are selling some and holding some !! I'm not sure what message that sends, except the silver they bought for around 3 or 4 bucks and ounce they are selling and the silver they bought for 7 and 8 bucks they are holding.
whether or not silver will continue to rise, I think it will and others I have talked to think it will fall back and hold before it takes the big jump,, its all speculation .

No way to really guess where it will go, I would hold on to it if I was you. I think it will comtuine to rise also I would what a few months when it hit $11, but if you need the money then might be time now if you do not need the money hold on

well not realy in need of the money just wondering how high people thought it would go or if they think the trend of it rising will continue or think its close to its end. If I sold today I would already almost double my money on it but was just wondering what others thought.

The silver and Gold market is on a high rise every day it is going up in bits. If you "invest" till your tired them sell them.
You would normally sell for a very good price then.

My advise is "Don't get greedy"--Sell when "it feels right to you!!" I have a ton of silver, but guess what I'm doing? CiScO

You need to do two things! One would be to keep track of prices paid for each piece of silver and the second would be to make up your mind what kind of profit you would accept for your coins/bars? When it reaches that point you must sell to fulfill your plans. Sounds simple enough doesn't it but usually when that "sell" price arrives the old brain will kick in and you will again find yourself trying to determine whether to sell or sit a little longer. I try to use the old saying, "Think long, think wrong" and go from there! Good luck!

thats where I find myself at this point. I would double my money if I sold at spot price right now, but the old brain is saying what if it went up another 3 dollars tomorrow look at how much I could have gotten. Heck I guess I will ride it out and if it goes back down a dollar or two from its highest point then I will sell some of it to just pay for what I spent to aquire it in the first place

If you are not in a situation where you actually need the money I would, in my humble opinion, NOT sell any silver at this time. Trends are higher for both gold and silver and with the world situation being what it is your stash my become much more than you have ever dreamed. Like it or not silver and gold is a market commodity and we must face the ups and downs but be thankful YOU are in charge here and don't have to worry about someone else putting the screws to you and your silver! Your the CEO so enjoy it!

IMO we may get a 70's flashback with Bernanke--The inflation/recession, inflation/recession two-step dance. Bernanke apparently doesn't like the prospects of deflation. And supposedly said he'll throw money out of a helicopter to prevent another Great Depression. Sounds like the white knight is talking backwards to me. If he throws money out of a helicopter to prevent a depression the bond markets would collapse and we'd have a depression. What else can Benny do other than accelerator/brakes accelerator/brakes all the time trying to convince those buying Treasury bonds that we're working on it, like, really really hard, for real this time, --so keep on buying. Just like in the 70's. If it happens that way there might be a lot of windows to buy and sell at a good profit; it might be the opportunity of lifetime. At least until Benny screws it all up. As someone in the late 70's said about the fed--- it's not like AJ Foyte is the driver.

Thanks Crystalk. It's got to be the most discriptive song for our so-called economy, and the phony 5th (wave) that fuels the delusions.

Hey Longnine, Strawberry Alarm Clock was the first group I ever saw live! I can remember standing next to the stage in Indy waiting patiently for the song "Incense and Peppermint" and walking away after it was over! I believe the event was called the WIFE (radio station) Fun Festival and there was a lot going on! Had to keep moving to take it all in but wasn't going anywhere until they played that hit! Sadly NO COINS at this event!
